A number of Canadian newspapers are among the finalists at the 2016 International News Media Association’s (INMA) Global Media Awards. The international competition honours efforts by innovative news organizations to engage readers, develop new products, drive advertising revenue and track audience insights.
The Winnipeg Free Press, Toronto Star, Edmonton Journal, Calgary Herald, Globe and Mail, Montreal Gazette, and the Postmedia chain are all among the nominees at this year’s competition, which received almost 700 entries from 264 news organizations in 40 countries around the world. The winners of this year’s Global Media Awards will be announced at a gala event in London, England on May 24 during the INMA World Congress.
