Longtime Vancouver Sun reporter, editor, manager and columnist Shelley Fralic has been named the recipient of the 2016 Bruce Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award. Fralic’s journalism career spanned more than four decades as she progressed through various roles at the Vancouver Sun newsroom.
She began in the human resources department at the Sun and later became assistant features editor, deputy editor and managing editor before eventually becoming the paper’s executive editor. She served as a columnist for the last 15 years of her career and retired in 2016.
Fralic will receive her award during the 30th annual Jack Webster Awards dinner on Thursday, October 20.
