Postmedia Network Inc. has announced the latest step in its ongoing commitment to supporting cities and communities through the COVID-19 crisis with Reopening Canada, an editorial and business-focused program.
“We’re all in this together as we work to emerge from this unprecedented and ongoing crisis. At Postmedia, we want to leverage our 125+ brands and over 17M monthly unique visitors to support the economic reopening of our country,” said Andrew MacLeod, President and Chief Executive Officer, Postmedia. “So many industries have been devastated by this crisis, none more so than the restaurant, tourism and hospitality sectors. We want to support these and all industries as we turn our focus to reopening the country and economic growth.”
The Reopening Canada program includes both an editorial series, as well as a marketing grant program.
The editorial team focuses on how businesses across the country plan to reopen. A special edition in print on June 27 and a similar section online will include an overview from our experts at the Financial Post about the reawakening economy, along with local stories that spotlight the recovery in sectors like the hospitality industry, retail, real estate, tourism, the arts and finance.
Also launching is the Postmedia Supports Marketing Grant Program. The program provides advertising support to local businesses in the cities and communities we serve to support their plans to reopen. The program has two components:
- A full marketing grant program to select businesses in the hardest hit sectors of our economy, including, but not limited to the restaurant, tourism and hospitality sectors
- A match program whereby local businesses can apply for matching media investments from $500 to $15,000 to complement their new programs
