Lynne Munro, the vice-president, promotions and partnerships, for Star Media Group, died from a rare and aggressive form of cancer on August 10. She was 65 years old.
According to a piece written about her career, Munro joined the Star in 2009, where she developed and greatly expanded the Star’s promotional partnerships in the city. She forged strong relationships with clients including MLSE, the Toronto International Auto Show and TIFF.
Munro worked for newspapers throughout her career, including stints at the National Post, the Vancouver Sun, and the Calgary Sun.
Munro is remembered by many colleagues for her intellect, kindness, and energy. Those who wish to mark her memory may donate to the Toronto Star Children’s Charities.
