The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association is currently seeking judges for our 2024 Better Newspapers Competition. The judging packages, which include tearsheets sent via Canada Post, will be available in the beginning of February and would need the scoresheets and comments returned by mid-February.They are looking for help in the following award categories:Premier Awards– Best First Nations Coverage– Best Health/Healthcare Coverage (Series of Stories)– Best Educational Coverage K-12 Single Story or FeatureGeneral Excellence AwardsThese categories contain three parts with separate scoresheets for each. Best Front Page, Best Editorial Page, and Best Overall Newspaper– Class B Circulation 800 – 1,499 (approx. 12 newspapers)– Class C Circulation 1,500 – 6,499 (approx. 12 newspapers)Judging contributions are invaluable to our awards program. If you are able to volunteer your time and expertise, please let me know which category you would like to judge along with a mailing address to where the entries can be sent.
