The 2006 Better Newspapers Competition is looking like a fierce battle for the 315 community and campus newspapers that entered this year. After accepting entries for two months the Canadian Community Newspaper Association was pleased with the record number of competitors for this year’s awards. In total the CCNA received over 3,130 entries across 35 categories.
Of all the categories, the most contested will be General Excellence, which received 252 entries, followed by Best Feature Story, which received 200 entries.
Finalists for the 2006 BNC will be announced on the CCNA website on Monday, April 17th, 2006.
