The Canadian Association of Journalists has released information packages for its annual awards, which include the Don McGillivary Award for investigative journalism and the CAJ / CNW Group Student Award of Excellence. The awards program is open to Canadian newspapers, both daily and community, as well as magazines, newswire services, and radio and television broadcasters.
This year’s competition, which honours work produced by Canadian journalists in the 2011 calendar year, features two new awards: the jhr / CAJ Award for Human Rights Reporting and the CWA Canada / CAJ Award for Labour Reporting.
The application deadline for the CAJ Awards is January 31 and the deadline for the CAJ / CNW Group Student Award of Excellence is February 28.
Winners will be presented at the CAJ Conference on April 27-29, happening in conjunction with INK+BEYOND 2012 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
