News Media Canada is pleased to announce this year’s winners of the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards.
Among this year’s highlights:
- The Rocky Mountain Outlook from Canmore/Kananaskis/Banff/Lake Louise in Alberta picked up the most wins (five), including first place for General Excellence.
- Paul MacNeill of The Eastern Graphic in Montague, PEI won Outstanding Columnist.
- The Varsity, University of Toronto, ON won Outstanding Campus Newspaper and tied with The Eyeopener, Ryerson University, ON for the campus newspaper with the most wins.
- The Northern Life in Sudbury, ON received 1st place for Outstanding Community Service.
- The Trident Newspaper from CFB Halifax-Maritime Forces Atlantic, NS won Best Canadian Forces Base Newspaper.
