On January 5, 2011, the Canadian Newspaper Association (CNA) and the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) launched one new name, logo and site. The two associations have been working together more and more on a combined conference, marketing and many other initiatives. In a move to present a united front to the media industry, both Boards approved one name for marketing purposes: Newspapers Canada (Journaux Canadiens for French Canada).
In developing this, possible names, logos and taglines were presented to both boards and were also researched with our key audiences.
The brand chosen, presented below, was designed to build off our roots while demonstrating our strength and growth in delivering news across multiple platforms. While both associations’ structure and governance remain, the single name provides one source for our combined offerings.
Note that our website address is now www.newspaperscanada.ca.
Also please note that our email addresses have changed to: first initial, last name @ newspaperscanada.ca.
