The Globe and Mail and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) were among the winners at this year’s Online Journalism Awards, administered by the Online News Association (ONA). Theglobeandmail.com received a general excellence award for Online Journalism in the Medium Site category while CBCnews.ca captured prizes in the Online Video Journalism, Medium Site category, as well as Multimedia Feature Presentation, Medium Site category for an interactive project about Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
The Vancouver Sun and the Toronto Star were also nominated at the 2011 awards. Winners were honoured on September 24 at an awards banquet in Boston during the annual ONA conference.
