Canada’s top young journalists have just over two weeks left to submit their work for consideration for the 2012 Edward Goff Penny Memorial Prizes. The entry deadline for the national competition has been extended until Friday, March 1.
Young journalists aged 20-25 are invited to submit articles published in a Canadian daily newspaper during the 2012 calendar year for a chance to win $1,500 in prize money. Awards will be given in two separate circulation categories: under 25,000 and 25,000 and over.
Last year’s winner Jesse McClean was recognized for his investigative foreign reporting for the Toronto Star.
Final winners of the 2012 competition will be honoured during a recognition ceremony at the 2013 INK+BEYOND newspaper conference in Ottawa this May.
