The Board of Directors of the Ontario Community Newspapers Association (OCNA) has appointed Caroline Medwell as executive director. A successful advertising executive and newspaper professional, Medwell has held progressive roles with TC Media, The Globe and Mail and Rogers Media. She has a strong understanding of the important role community newspapers play in their communities and their ability to drive results for advertisers. As executive director for OCNA she will provide leadership to the $6 million industry association, its 305 community newspaper members and its Ad*Reach division.
“One of the main priorities of the OCNA Board is to ensure the growth of national advertising for our sector and we have confidence that Caroline Medwell will be able to take our Ad*Reach division to the next level,” said OCNA President Gordon Cameron in making the announcement. “She has shown herself to be a dedicated worker and a creative problem-solver throughout her career and that is just the sort of person we are looking for to lead the community newspaper industry.”
OCNA staff and outgoing Executive Director Anne Lannan anticipate a seamless transition once Medwell begins her new role on a full-time basis on April 27. Members can connect with her at c.medwell@ocna.org, 800-387-7982 ext 228.
