The report finds that most respondents feel news media do a good job in Canada, particularly regarding the immediacy of coverage. Six out of ten Canadians also believe the news media do a good job of helping them understand the news of the day, which compares favourably with other participating countries.
The Digital News Report is an international study by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University. The 2019 study was conducted in 38 countries, including Canada.
