Jean-Philippe Cirpriani has been named the new editor-in-chief for ProjetJ.ca, an online journalism and media watchdog. The French-language website operates as a sister site to j-source.ca and is an initiative of The Canadian Journalism Foundation in collaboration with Canadian universities and partner organizations.
Cipriani started his journalism career at Le Soleil before joining Radio-Canada where he worked for over ten years in online, radio and television. In February 2012, he helped launch Huffington Post Quebec, where he held the position of news editor.
ProjetJ and J-Source were launched in 2007 under the leadership of Ivor Shapiro, now chair of the School of Journalism at Ryerson University, and Colette Brin, a professor in the Department of Information and Communication at Laval University.
