Snapshot: Community Newspaper Circulation

In 2021, there were 950 community newspapers in Canada and 1,000 editions. Community newspapers published 14.1 million copies each week and the majority of circulation was free (controlled), accounting for almost 13.5 million copies weekly. Community newspapers published in broadsheet and tabloid formats, and 84% of all editions were tabloids.
