Scott Shortliffe is leaving his position as director of periodical publishing policy and programs at Canadian Heritage for a promotion to deputy director general, broadcasting and digital communication.
Shortliffe has been in his current position since June 2006 and his responsibilities included the Canada Periodical Fund and its predecessor the Publications Assistance Program. His new position takes effect March 21.
Taking over for Shortliffe is Ramzi Saad who has headed the strategic policy and management team at Canadian Heritage since September 2008. Saad starts as director of periodical publishing policy and programs on March 28.
