The Canadian Journalism Project has named OpenFile.ca founder and CEO Wilf Dinnick as the winner of this year’s J-Source Canadian Newsperson of the Year. Dinnick was recognized for “his courage to put his own reputation on the line to create new and innovative approaches to engaging citizens with local, public-service journalism.” Dinnick previously served as an international correspondent for CNN and has worked for a number of Canada’s national news networks including Global National, CBC and CTV News.
The J-Source Canadian Newsperson of the Year award honours a Canadian who demonstrates excellence and has a positive impact on the quality of journalism in their community or across the country.
