For the third year in a row, Newspapers Canada has invited the finalists in the multimedia feature category of the National Newspaper Awards to lead an inspiring webinar on Multimedia Excellence. On Tuesday, April 17, Randy Risling and Michelle Shepard from the Toronto Star, Patty Brooks and Eric Wynne from the Halifax Chronicle Herald and Stephen Northfield from The Globe and Mail will discuss how their outstanding NNA-nominated multimedia projects came together and what resources were used to create them.
This year’s nominees are:
- The Halifax Chronicle-Herald for Nova Scotia Burning, a multimedia study of racism in Nova Scotia
- The Globe and Mail for Inside Hamas, an examination of the Palestinian militant group Hamas
- Toronto Star for Somalia: Where famine is a crime, a revelation of the ongoing despair and famine in Somalia.
