A number of Canadian newspapers are among the list of finalists at the 2012 Canadian Online Publishing Awards. The annual awards, administered by Masthead, honour newspapers, magazines, broadcasters and online-only publishers for excellence in digital journalism and design. In the green division, dedicated to newspapers and broadcasters, the Toronto Star leads the pack with 14 nominations.
The Globe and Mail earned eight nominations, Torstar’s The Grid received seven, La Presse received six, the National Post received four, the Edmonton Journal gained three nominations and finally, the Winnipeg Free Press received one nomination.

The final winners of the fourth annual Canadian Online Publishing Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on October 22, 2012 at The Hoxton in Toronto.
