A group of 22 finance and credit representatives– including daily and community newspapers, TV, radio, and outdoor–listened and shared their experiences on a variety of topics and discussed common industry challenges during Newspapers Canada’s second Media Credit Conference on May 15-16 in Markham, Ontario. This year’s conference focused on productivity improvements and included an extremely useful presentation on time management and using Outlook more effectively.
Other highlights included an engaging speaker presentation on “Building a Winning Team” and a legal presentation on an unusual agency failure that held its informal creditors’ meeting on the same day as the conference. The two-day event also included six round-table discussions on practical topics such as credit card use, motivation techniques for staff, optimizing workloads and electronic signatures.
The feedback from participants was very positive and served to cement the already strong networking that the media credit group enjoy.
