Christie Blatchford named keynote speaker for INK+BEYOND luncheon

Award-winning newspaper columnist Christie Blatchford has joined the program for the INK+BEYOND newspaper conference in Charlottetown, PEI.

During a special luncheon on Friday, May 30, Blatchford will apply her unique editorial perspective to discuss the current state of the publishing industry in Canada and share her insights on the future of storytelling.

Blatchford was born in Quebec and studied journalism at Ryerson University in Toronto. She has written for all four Toronto-based daily newspapers. She won a National Newspaper Award for column writing in 1999 and in 2008 she received the Governor-General’s Literary Award in non-fiction for her book Fifteen Days: Stories of Bravery, Friendship, Life and Death from Inside the New Canadian Army.

Blatchford joins a diverse variety of industry representatives from Canada and around the world who will be presenting at this year’s national newspaper conference in Charlottetown.
