Sun Media’s 33 newspapers across the country are once again receiving news content from The Canadian Press. Malcolm Kirk, president of the national news agency, announced that CP and Postmedia have signed a four-year service contract and called the return of the papers “an important milestone for The Canadian Press.” Sun Media originally pulled out of the national newswire service back in 2010.
Postmedia has also announced plans to close the English-language component of QMI Agency, the newswire service the company acquired from Quebecor earlier this year. QMI will continue to operate in French under Quebecor.
