The Ontario Community Newspapers Association is currently seeking applicants for the National Account Manager role within its sales and marketing division, Ad*Reach. The goal of this role is to increase advertising revenues for community newspapers by developing business among national and provincial advertisers.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, and supported by a small but knowledgeable team, the National Account Manager will be responsible for a wide range of advertising agencies and clients, as follows:
- Initiate and develop strong, positive business relationships with assigned agencies and clients
- Identify prospective business based on strong alignment with our product offerings
- Create pertinent, impactful sales proposals that are based on a solid understanding of the client’s communication objectives
- Promote the effective and efficient use of community newspapers
- Provide excellent customer service
- Generate campaign quotes, newspaper recommendations, and market matching
- Identify required research and other sales support tools and resources
- Communicate regularly with OCNA members regarding needs, ideas and developments
- Serve as the Community Newspaper Ambassador among advertising agencies and clients
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in agency media or media sales
- Creative thinker, able to create ideas-based advertising and sales solutions
- Proven self-starter, with efficient work habits
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of media research, Canadian geography, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Familiarity with ad booking systems and rate negotiations
