Although Montreal’s La Presse has ceased its print edition, the publication’s managing editor says the iPad edition has continued to grow. Readership on the app now stands at nearly 270,000.
Managing editor, Éric Trottier, told the Montreal Gazette in an interview the current success of the iPad edition means readership numbers have surpassed those of the print edition at its height. Moreover, daily iPad readers spend about 40 minutes reading the digital paper, compared to print readers at 25 minutes .
Trottier also stated that ads in the tablet edition go for about the same price as ads in the paper edition did.
