Sharing some reader love from Gabriola Island

British Columbia’s Gabriola Sounder came up with a creative twist to promote National Newspaper Week in the pages of their paper. Using the Newspapers Matter logo they ran small space quotes from readers and notable community members throughout their paper.

One quote from Sheila Macolmson, Member of Parliament for Nanimo-Ladysmith and Gabriola resident said:

“We need journalism that connects the dots.  Having a local newspaper dedicated to reporting on our unique problems and successes is vital to the health and democracy of our community and country.”
