Community newspapers and their websites are hyper-local. They effectively represent the neighbourhoods they serve and are able to target these communities like no other medium.
Based on data from mid-2019, there were 1,026 Canadian community newspaper titles and 1,083 editions published each week. Total weekly circulation of community newspapers this year comes in at 16 million copies, the majority of which are controlled (free) circulation.
