Newspapers across the country are experiencing healthy financial growth this quarter. Vancouver-based newspaper publisher Glacier Media Inc. attributed increased revenues to larger advertising revenue and the general economic revival of the industry. FP Canadian Newspapers Limited Partnership (FPLP) also reported increased second quarter earnings as a result of a 5.3% reduction in operating expenses such as lower newsprint and delivery costs. Quebecor, which controls the Videotron cable company and the Sun Media chain of newspapers, reported a 5 percent rise in revenue.
