Shannon Balla has been appointed publisher of the Tri-City News in Port Coquitlam, B.C. Balla began her newspaper career as a classified sales rep in 1995. She was previously the publisher at the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Times and, most recently, the Tri-Cities Now. She takes over the publisher role at the Tri-City News from Nigel Lark.
Michelle Baniulis is also joining the Tri-Cities News as the new director of advertising. Baniulis held the same role at the Burnaby and New Westminster NewsLeader papers and previously worked in sales at The Tri-City News. She is taking over from recently retired sales manager Don Layfield.
