The Newspapers 24/7 survey reports that nine out of ten (87%) Canadians are newspaper readers, across print, website, phone and tablets combined. Total readership is strong and stable. While print readership continues to make up the majority of reading, more Canadians are reading digital editions in addition to their print habit.
Newspapers continue to be accessed by Canadians across all devices. They read print but they also use their computers, tablets and phones to connect with content they trust.
– John Hinds, CEO, Newspapers Canada
Newspapers Canada regularly collects newspaper readership data by device and time of day for the Newspapers 24/7 study. The last study took place in November 2014 and data is being updated with a study in field now.
