News Media Canada’s program on media literacy is set to launch on September 16 with a nation-wide campaign in newspapers, promoting a simple, four step tool to Canadians of all ages.
This easy-to-understand program will encourage Canadians of all ages to critically assess online reporting and digital media and avoid being susceptible to manipulation online by asking four simple questions.
S – Is this a credible Source?
P – Is the Perspective biased?
O – Are Other sources reporting the same story?
T – Is the story Timely?
Participating community newspapers across Canada will continue to promote these easy to understand steps with a small space/frequency print campaign running for 20 weeks following the launch.
