Newspapers Canada releases 2012 Q1 revenue data for daily newspapers

Mobile advertising nearly doubled over the first quarter of last year going from $560,000 in Q1 2011 to $1,016,000 in Q1 2012 according to the latest daily newspaper revenue report released by Newspapers Canada. The quarterly survey also revealed that first quarter revenues in print advertising and circulation show a slower decline compared to the first quarter of 2011 and online revenues remain relatively flat following several positive quarters.

This quarterly survey is conducted on behalf of Newspapers Canada by Borrell Associates and provides a high level view of daily newspaper industry revenues. The survey is conducted online and participating newspapers represent 98% of total daily newspaper circulation.
