Daily newspaper editors should encourage their young staff members and freelance writers to submit entries for the 2012 Goff Penny Awards for Young Journalists. The annual awards program provides cash prizes of $1,500 to young journalists writing for daily newspapers in two circulation cateogries: under 25,000 and 25,000 and over. Competitors are required to submit four (4) editorial articles published during the 2012 calendar year and must be between the ages of 20 and 25 at the time of publication in order to be eligible for consideration.
The entry deadline for this year’s competition if Friday, February 18.
