Vividata: Eight out of ten Canadians are newspaper readers

Vividata’s most recent study confirms that eight out of ten Canadians read newspaper content each week in the 49 markets measured across the country. Print readership of daily newspapers is stable (+ 0.5 percent) and readership in markets with a population under 100,000 is on par with major metropolitan markets.

Today’s news consumers are a whole new breed; they read constantly across multiple platforms, whether it’s a social media post on their smartphone, a news article on their tablet, a magazine feature during a flight, or a print paper during their daily commute.

Every quarter, Vividata undertakes one of the most comprehensive consumer surveys in Canada, covering hundreds of product and service categories. For more insights on Canada’s daily newspaper readership, visit www.vividata.ca.
