2008 BNC receives first entrant

Excitement is building for the 2008 Better Newspapers Competition, with Canadian Community Newspapers Association members across the country readying their entries ahead of the January 9 earlybird deadline. Hundreds of newspapers will compete in this annual event that recognizes the best in the industry.

One newspaper is ahead of everyone else though. The New Hamburg Independent is officially the first newspaper to qualify for the earlybird draw. All entries postmarked or shipped prepaid prior to Wednesday, January 9 will qualify for the draw for a voucher worth up to $1,500 toward the cost of one person attending the 2008 CCNA national convention in Toronto.

The final entry deadline is Friday, January 18.
