Newspapers honored at Canadian Online Publishing Awards

The Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star and La Presse were among the many media outlets recognized at the third annual Canadian Online Publishing Awards hosted by Masthead. Newspapers competed against each other and broadcasters in the Green Division at the annual awards gala honouring editorial-based online and digital publishing.

The Globe and Mail received three awards; a gold in the Companion Website category, a gold in the Newsletter category for the paper’s wine newsletter, and a silver award in the Video/Multimedia feature for Inside Hamas. Nationalpost.com also received three awards, garnering golds for best web design and best use of social media and silver for best companion website. Toronto Star received gold in the Blog category and LaPresse.ca was named the gold winner in the Cross-Platform Initiative category for its federal election coverage.
