Former newspaper editor and sports reporter John B. McClelland dies

Veteran Ontario newspaperman John B. McClelland passed away last week at his home in Toronto. McClelland began his newspaper career as the editor of the Port Perry Star in 1972 where he worked as an editor, reporter and photographer.

He later moved on to the Oshawa Times and by returned to the Star in 1977 where he remained as editor and sports columnist for the next 15 years. In 1991 he left his post to launch the Scugog Citizen.
