Longtime Windsor Star editor-in-chief Marty Beneteau announces his retirement

Award-winning Ontario newspaperman Marty Beneteau will be retiring on October 14 after a 37-year career in the industry.

Beneteau has served as editor-in-chief at the Windsor Star and as regional vice president, editorial for parent company Postmedia for the last two years.

He started his journalism career at the Sault Star in 1979 and joined the Windsor Star newsroom in 1980. He made his way up the ranks working as a junior reporter, copy editor, news editor and metro editor before eventually becoming publisher and editor-in-chief in 2011.

A replacement has not yet been named.
