Based on the most recent Vividata research, more than eight out of ten Canadians in communities with a population of less than 500,000 report reading their community newspaper. The majority of community newspaper readers (69%) read their community newspaper in the past week.
Data from Newspapers Canada’s own Community Newspapers Drive Results research study confirms that community newspaper readers choose to read for local information (editorial, sports, news, events) as well as flyers, inserts and advertising.
