This year we will celebrate National Newspaper Week from Sunday October 6 to Saturday October 12.
Once again, this is our opportunity to remind our readers that newspapers play an essential role in the lives of Canadians, week in and week out.
This year’s program will build on the momentum from the “Newspapers Matter: Now more than ever” program launched in 2018. Last year almost 400 newspapers across the country joined together during National Newspaper Week in a national print and digital ad campaign, and we are planning to repeat this incredible event.
News Media Canada is creating a new ad campaign for this year and we are encouraging all newspapers, large and small, to sign up to run a full page ad during October 6-12. You can confirm your participation and add your paper to the list by clicking here.
We will also be spearheading a national influencer campaign in social media that encourages Canadians to share a photo of themselves with their favourite newspaper on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter. This will all be supported by a national media relations program.
