Val Wiebe is the new group publisher of the Alberta Communities Group, which includes the Vauxhall Advance, Taber Times, Coaldale Sunny South News, Bow Island Commentator/Cypress Courier and Westwind Weekly News.
Wiebe has been in the newspaper industry for more than four decades and was named assistant general manager of the Alberta Communites Group in 2012. She started her career as a typesetter at the Taber Times in 1974, and held numerous roles in the organization over the years.
Wiebe succeeds former publisher Coleen Campbell who had worked with the company for more than 40 years.
