The amount of time spent consuming media is on the rise across the world, new research shows.
Data compiled from 2011 to 2016 from eMarketer shows that Canadian adults spent 581 minutes (9.7 hours) per day with major media including newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, cinema, internet and outdoor in 2016.
Digital media consumption continues to rise as well, likely driven by younger consumers.
Research from Ipsos (2014) found that Canadians between 18 and 24 years of age reported the highest media consumption followed by Boomers (50-68 years) and then adults between 25 and 49 years of age.
