The Globe and Mail to launch paid digital subscription service in 2012

The Globe and Mail has announced it will move some of its digital content behind a paywall in the summer of 2012. According to an article on the newspaper’s website, premium financial news, some feature columnists and other exclusive features will be provided on a paid subscription basis.

While the newspaper has not yet confirmed a pricing strategy for the new metered model, the product is expected to be bundled with some print subscriptions, with separate pricing for digital-only subscribers.
