CAJ to launch new journalism award for excellence in labour reporting

The Canadian Association of Journalists is teaming up with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Canada to create a new award for Canadian journalists reporting on labour issues and events. “Labour reporting has played a vital role over the last century in highlighting workplace and social injustice and bringing progressive change,” said CWA Canada director Martin O’Hanlon. “This award will honour and encourage reporting that shines a light on issues that affect millions of working Canadians.”

More information regarding criteria, eligibility and entry details will be released by CAJ before the end of 2012.

The CAJ Award for Excellence in Labour Reporting will be presented at the CAJ’s annual gala, on April 28, 2012 as part of the INK+BEYOND conference and trade show.
