We’re looking for volunteers to cover INK+BEYOND in Charlottetown this May

Newspapers Canada is currently recruiting volunteer reporters and photographers to help cover the upcoming INK+BEYOND newspaper conference and trade show on May 28-30 in Charlottetown, PEI.

Volunteers will have a chance to attend conference sessions, educational workshops and the industry trade show free of charge (a $400 value) and have their coverage published in front of a national industry audience. There will also be numerous opportunities for our volunteers to network with publishers, editors and various other newspaper delegates from publications across the country.

We are looking for approximately four or five experienced individuals with backgrounds in editorial, photography and/or multimedia journalism to provide coverage in the following areas:

  • Written news articles summarizing each of the speaker sessions, workshops, awards galas and trade show (roughly 400-600 words per piece);
  • Photography for various sessions, networking events, awards presentations and trade show;
  • Ongoing social media coverage throughout the two-day event.

All volunteers must be able to produce professional, insightful and accurate work in a quick turnaround time. Conference materials provided by our volunteers will be published on the INK+BEYOND website and may also be distributed in our weekly News on News e-newsletter.

If you are interested in volunteering at the 2014 year’s INK+BEYOND conference, please contact Jessica Napier at jnapier@newspaperscanada.ca.
