Sudden death of photojournalist Ted Rhodes met with shock and disappointment

Friends and colleagues remembered renowned Canadian photojournalist Ted Rhodes this week after he passed away last weekend after a skiing accident in Fernie, B.C. at the age of 65.

Rhodes suffered critical injuries in the crash. He was admitted to a hospital around 5 p.m., where he succumbed before RCMP arrived.

Born in London, Ont., and raised in Kitchener, Rhodes began his career at the Cape Breton Post before working at the Woodstock Sentinel-Review and Windsor Star. He joined the staff of the Calgary Herald in 2003. He retired in 2016.
