Better Newspapers Competition deadline January 31

The entry deadline for the 2006 Better Newspapers Competition (BNC) is quickly approaching and that means it’s time to get your entries together before it’s too late. With over 30 different awards, a variety of circulation classes, and cash prizes to win, there’s no reason not to enter at least one category. The fee is just $50.00 for General Excellence, and then just $50.00 plus $5.00 per entry to the Premier Awards, Special Competitions, or Best Canadian Forces Base Newspaper categories.

Can’t choose what you want to enter? Why not prove to your community and advertisers (not to mention your staff) what an outstanding paper you publish by entering the General Excellence category, or show off the talent in your newsroom by entering for Best News Story?

The entry deadline for the 2006 BNC is Tuesday, January 31, 2006, and your entries must be received at the CCNA office – 8 Market St., Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario, M5E 1M6 – postmarked or shipped prepaid prior to midnight on January 31. (C.O.D. packages will not be accepted.) Visit the BNC website at http://www.communitynews.ca/bncawards for the full rules of entry and to download the forms.

Awards for the 2006 BNC will be handed out at the Canadian Community Newspapers Association’s 2006 Convention which will be held in Quebec City from May 24 to 27.

If you have any questions you can contact Andrew at the CCNA office at 1-877-305-2262 extension 29, or by email at apowell@ccna.ca.
