The Canada Periodical Fund (CPF) was launched by Canadian Heritage to replace the Publications Assistance Program (PAP) and Canada Magazine Fund. The Aid to Publishers component is the cornerstone of the Canada Periodical Fund and provides Canadian publishers of paid circulation non-daily newspapers and paid or verified request circulation magazines with financial assistance to produce and distribute high-quality Canadian content for Canadian readers.
