Finalists announced for 2013 National Newspaper Awards

The Globe and Mail has 14 nominations to lead all entrants in the 65th annual National Newspaper Awards competition. The Toronto Star has 13 nominations and Montreal’s La Presse has nine finalists in the competition, which is open to daily newspapers as well as online news sites approved for entry by the NNA Board of Governors.

Other organizations with multiple nominations include the Canadian Press, with four, and the Calgary Herald, National Post and Winnipeg Free Press, with three each.

The winners of the 2013 National Newspaper Awards will be announced at a special awards ceremony to be held in Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Friday, May 30 in conjunction with the INK+BEYOND newspaper conference.
