INMA releases new report on media smartphone apps

The trials, tribulations, and aspirations of media companies trying to make smartphone apps work for their loyal readers is the focus of a recent report released by the International News Media Association (INMA). The report, titled Smartphone App Lessons for Media Companies, includes 19 case studies of media companies in Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and the South Pacific aiming to sync smartphone app plans to their local digital ecosystems.

The report includes smartphone app success rates and an insightful discussion, regarding the challenges media companies are facing in trying to fit smartphone apps into a media company’s bigger digital strategy.

“The smartphone app report offers ideas, benchmarks, goals, and a lot of new material to bring into strategic discussions noted INMA executive director and CEP Earl J. Wilkinson. “With so many apps being developed the past three years, it’s illustrative to see the ideas that are surviving.”
