Research shows cord cutting continues in Canada

New research finds that in the first nine months of 2015, the big TV service providers in Canada lost significantly more subscribers compared to last year. The rate of “cord cutting” in Canada continues to accelerate according to Boon Dog Professional Services, an Ottawa-based research and consulting firm specializing in the broadcasting and media sectors.

Combined, the Canadian publicly traded television service providers lost almost seven times more TV subscribers compared to 2014. Although the losses represent just 1% of the traditional TV market, this is an ongoing trend that will shape the future industry.
